Biomass Display at Krohn
EWB was part of hands on displays for kids and their families on nature and sustainability in 2011.
After partnering with Krohn on research to use banana tree waste in briquettes (see full biomass research and development here), they invited us out to be a part of one of their weekend hands on days. EWB members had fun getting our hands dirty with the kids.
We also got rave reviews. “Congratulations to everyone, a great chapter event. Saturday was quite good and today Sunday was great. Lots of "good" traffic. Kids had fun both days making briquettes. The manager for Krohn came in today and said we were the talk of the whole show. On several occasions people even went into the classroom and watched the (EWB) video.”
Also we had a professor from Yale University who does work with briquettes and stoves show up. “He was so impressed he was almost stuttering try to express his enthusiasm for what the GCP chapter is doing.”
